Johnson's Baby Award for Excellence in Midwifery Education
This award is dedicated to an educational initiative that is making a difference to midwifery practice, which has improved performance and delivered enhanced skills and capabilities.

This award is made to a midwife teacher or a group of midwife educators including mentors who have either designed a new educational initiative or tool, and have implemented and evaluated its effect on the education of midwives and/or student midwives.  This award recognises those who have led and pioneered work in education, and has influenced the theory and practice of midwives to the benefit of clinical practice.

The judges are looking for:

  • Evidence of cutting edge, high quality innovation in midwifery educational theory and/or practice
  • Explicit application to clinical practice
  • Creative use of educational methods and media
  • Cost- effectiveness and sustainability.
